As mentioned this morning, all the charts are finally adding up to an increasingly narrowing point where it appears some major event is about to happen. TA is there across many markets. The stars are aligned.
The Russian Market being closed today would make for a nice first domino. French elections, Greece elections, Dutch resignations, EU non easing, Fed non easing, AAPL miss, MENA, Israel, Iran, Egypt, Syria, China ... I could go on and on. We're one 'event' from a tidal wave of erupting the emotional powder keg that is global tension.
Weekly Indicator Chart - (Best viewed at the link) - I'm looking at the last three major tops and none of them turned on a dime. They all gave us at least one major corrective and rally to a higher high before the ultimate collapse. I'm not saying that has to happen here. I like the right shoulder being complete and the ultimate top being set for the three phase 'recovery' that was not really a recovery. Look closely at the chart below off the 667 lows and see what $27 trillion can do for a market (and banksters wallets) in an economy that is turning to dust. Green Dashed lines would be an optimal fall scenario for me.

Afternoon Delight 03/20/12 -You Need To Be Afraid, Really Afraid - The Government Is Taking Over Everything
As the market works on a top here, so many other things are working on their own crescendo. Of course none of this is any good. In fact it is all rather disturbing (quite disturbing actually). If you don't follow the news on the net or rely on the MSM solely for your news you may find some of this either off base or a stretch. Bottom line is what you are about to read below is all real.
It is time for you to take the big boy step and realize just how bad things are both politically and economically. As STB has stated many times recently, the market is NOT the important things here. Far from it as a matter of fact. The markets are a great distraction. They are the smoke screen hiding the painful truth that as an American your rights and freedoms are being taken from you right from under your nose.
In what should be the safest place on the planet for the Secretary of Defense, the unheard of (and never done before) happened, "US soldiers were asked to disarm during a speech by Leon Panetta, the American defence secretary, in a sign of grown concern over spates of seemingly random violence in Afghanistan." Soldiers asked to disarm during Leon Panetta speech in Afghanistan - Telegraph. Yes, we've now reached a point where not even our own military personnel (yes, the same ones we trust to defend the nation) are not trusted with weapons around their own command.
You see, guns are bad. They are not safe and they are about to be taken from us after Obummer gets reelected. An armed nation is not what this government wants. US Attny General Eric Holder is doing everything he can to rid this nation of guns. If you are not familiar with Fast and Furious, read more about it here. You know, when our government shipped guns to Mexico so they would be used to kill our own law enforcement agents so the government could crack down on gun control. You need to listen to, "then-U.S. Attorney Eric Holder announcing a public campaign to "really brainwash people into thinking about guns in a vastly different way."" The Vetting - Holder 1995: We Must 'Brainwash' People on Guns
If you are a bit late to the game and missed the NDAA (You know the National Defense Authorization Act that says you have NO rights at all and that the government can come and lock you up indefinitely for no reason at all) you need to read NDAA Is Washington’s Totalitarian Response To Political Dissent And Economic Collapse Alex Jones' Infowars. Then came ACTA and Sopa and PIPA where the government launched its strike on attempting to control the internet.

Morning Post
Several scenarios exist. My favorite is that was an A of and ABC corrective of a the final 5.3.5 move of 2 of 1 of P3, that could have completed 2 and we're now in 3 of 1 of 1 or we're in a secular bull market, have fully recovered and you should be balls deep in equities with 100% margin. You should know that the last part was a joke from ne, but the BS you hear from CNBS you may not have known.
Tough call here as the minis tangle with the support line that runs back to August and the lower channel support as well. If that support goes I'd watch for form first. If you see a big 3 impulse, then 2 of 1 is toast and the bears have the ball. If it pussy foots around and lacks volatility then more upside may be coming the bulls are still on offense.
Everything I see says the markets should continue their move down. The 30 and 60m indicators have not bottomed nor have set any sort of divergence that usually signal a turn coming. This move south may just be getting started. If what Benny says today causes a reversal, it should be sort lived and will force the daily indicators to remain overbought. Again, let's see the form and be patient. Let Benny get his BS speech out of the way and then see how the market reacts.
Economic Calendar - Busy with "Make It Rain" Ben at 10:00 along with New Home Sales then at 10:30 the Petrol report. Jobs tomorrow could effect markets later.
Earnings Calendar - DLTR and RIG may interest you.
No futures this am, sorry.
SPX Daily chart -Does not look good.
SPX 60m - This is a possibility that I do not like much, but if this triangle should play out we may be on to some good targets. My last triangle worked great. Why not try another? Again, I don't really like it that much. Maybe the lower TL needs to be reset? The indicators say so.

At Some Point.....
At some point the lying, cheating and stealing will have to stop, but it wont be this week (or next, or....). So, any good news? Not unless your favorite college team stole a recruit from a hated rival.
Let's get on with it.
The first order of business today is The Treasury Is Soliciting Your Feedback Regarding The Proposed Annuitization Of 401(k). Yes, step two is happening and rather quickly. I think they are pretty serious about this move. They want to tap your retirement savings to save the nation (whether you like it or not). The full letter is in the ZH post. Please use the email wisely and forward it to everyone one of your contacts. "For readers who feel compelled to respond to this increasignly socialistic and ludicrous development, we suggest you voice your anger at the following address:
Did you know that SIGTARP Probing Insider Trading? Really? Well that is better than the spineless SEC or FINRA have done. "The Financial Times appears to have broken the story that the Office of the Special Inspector General is investigating reports of insider trading in connection with the TARP. And what makes this probe potentially serious (aside from the brazenness of it) is that the suspects include executives as well as foot soldiers:" I don't believe it for one minute. Who would insinuate the banksters would do such a thing? I mean, like, really now.
The biggest tell all along to me has been the banks less than stellar effort to loan funds to consumers and small business. They know what is coming. They know where the real problems lie. They know the deal. In Fed: Banks Cease Tightening Standards, Loan Demand Weakens Further you find out now that even the consumer sees no need to borrow at this point. We're all sick of it and don't want any more. Like gorging at the all you can eat catfish buffet for 4 years, you kind of lose your taste for the stuff. Maybe, the public is catching on (that or they are tired of paying 30% on their CC balances).
The most interesting thing I read today (and was going to do a full post/rant on the subject) was Poll: Americans pretty clueless about politics, world I have been barking a lot over the past several months about how stupid the average American is and how we don't give a damn about anything other than our big screens and Cheetos. This post proves it. In a poll run by The Pew Research Center We learn just how ignorant we as a country are to some pretty basic topics. I encourage you to take the poll, cause it ain't all that hard. Most answers are either obvious or can be narrowed to 50/50 very easily. I'm telling you, we are a large part of the problem. We are lazy and just want to roll along and not have to worry about shit "we have enough problems as it is". LOL. We are so out of the loop clueless it is astounding. This translates (in a negative manner) to our need/desire for and active populace to promote positive CHANGE. I just hope we are not so far out of it that we can't rise up to regain this country from the terrorist hijackers that have control of it at this point.
Thanks for the read and have a great evening.

Hurricane Katrina - Revisited
Despite the markets actions the economic picture continues to paint a picture that looks like the Cat 5 hurricane is looming off shore. As each approaching band sweeps across the landscape another home is wiped out, another job is lost and all while the undertow slowly erodes what's left of the financial foundation of this country.
Sadly we did not have an early warning system set up for this catastrophe. Apparently all the buoys in the world could not see this storm coming. You see, the transponders had all been turned off allowing this storm to approach quietly, unsuspectingly. We all were punch drunk in the Fed's casino and at 4:35am when they shut down the credit window we were all SOL. We were not ready when the credit levies failed.
Then just as FEMA horribly mismanaged Katrina, the Fed, Treasury and current administration have screwed this recovery up as well. Instead of pulling the people from their flooded houses and getting them safe, they have taken all disaster relief to the TBTF's and left us to wade in the carnage, sewage and filth of crisis.
We have been left for dead while the city and the big businesses get saved first. We're stuck at the Super Dome and can't get out. All the bridges are out. There are no life lines and apparently communication to the government has been cut off. President Nagin (I mean Obama -sorry for that horrible unintentional reference) is more concerned about other things right now than helping the people of the country. The media coverage is focused on everything but the struggling individuals left to survive in more than adverse conditions. Pay no attention to the millions of unemployed swimming in the feces laden pool of debt that the TBTF's were allowed to create.
Recovery will be swift. We will rebuild. We have funds to get you back on your feet. Jobs will be created and all will be restored to normal. Meanwhile report to your local credit councilor and turn in your firearms. We're here to help.
Sadly we got screwed again. Only this time the country is being laid to waste and not just New Orleans. The levies are being rebuilt (bubble re inflation) and they will protect us from all future storms. Really, now? You will be able to return to your homes. Really, now? New Orleans will return to the once great city it once was. Really, now? Residents of New Orleans, your lives will return to normal soon.
Really, now?
