Late today Egan Jones spanked the Queen on Jubilation Day or whatever elitist pomp celebration day it is. Nothing against the royals and the history over there. I get it, it's cool and I respect it. I'm all about God bless the Queen and all that. It's just that I'm a bit tired of the elite right now and the Queen kinda exemplifies a group of people on this planet I don't feel like paying homage to right now.
Anyway, Egan Jones pooped on the UK today downgrading them from AA to AA-. The nerve of those people. On Jubilee Day, while no one is looking and most are deep in the pints, WHAM, you got served. Of course in all fairness the PPT steps in over here and the markets actually rally on the downgrade. Makes plenty of sense to me. Sure, I get it. Rally on downgrade, the new normal.

Afternoon Delight 04/23/12 - SHTF Edition
As mentioned this morning, all the charts are finally adding up to an increasingly narrowing point where it appears some major event is about to happen. TA is there across many markets. The stars are aligned.
The Russian Market being closed today would make for a nice first domino. French elections, Greece elections, Dutch resignations, EU non easing, Fed non easing, AAPL miss, MENA, Israel, Iran, Egypt, Syria, China ... I could go on and on. We're one 'event' from a tidal wave of erupting the emotional powder keg that is global tension.
Weekly Indicator Chart - (Best viewed at the link) - I'm looking at the last three major tops and none of them turned on a dime. They all gave us at least one major corrective and rally to a higher high before the ultimate collapse. I'm not saying that has to happen here. I like the right shoulder being complete and the ultimate top being set for the three phase 'recovery' that was not really a recovery. Look closely at the chart below off the 667 lows and see what $27 trillion can do for a market (and banksters wallets) in an economy that is turning to dust. Green Dashed lines would be an optimal fall scenario for me.

Morning Market Summary and Charts 03/09/12 #SPX $ES
The Greeks PSI deal is done for now. The ramifications are still to be felt, but everyone is breathing easier at least for the moment. Now we begin the Post Stimulus Insanity period? "This deal may have sown the seeds of a major political and economic crisis at the heart of Europe, which in the medium and long term further threatens the stability of the eurozone." OpenEurope Verdict On Greek PSI - Pyrrhic Victory Sowing Seeds Of A Political And Economic Crisis In Europe | ZeroHedge.
How could a country the size of Massachusetts with over $200 billion in debt be an issue? (/sarc) This thing went off without a hitch. Easy as pie. Bondholders came to the table ready ad willing to step up to the plate, take their haircuts and do what was right for the good of the globe. Or did they? "Yes indeed, the deal was so difficult that the Greek parliament chose to enforce it on holdouts by gunpoint, more specifically retroactive collective action clauses (CACs)". Mish's Global Economic Trend Analysis: "Success" at Gunpoint. Nothing like a little influence to get a deal done.

Afternoon Delight 02/01/12 - Ragin At The Machine
Ragin at the machine can get old and tends to wear on you after time (both reading and writing). The emotional swings one goes thru watching your country, future and everything around you permanently relying on intervention to save the day all the while waiting while knowing total implosion is one default away. Remarkable times we live in. Have no fear, STB will won't stop ragin till ACTA or SOPA pull the plug (that is here at least).
The crony capitalist system is in full control, printing when they need it, controlling the government to remove what little roadblock regulations (Dodd/Frank a tragic waste of time) are remaining and the MSM to sell whatever angle needs to be transmitted to the sheeple.
Here is the full control example - For those of you that don't quite "get it", lets start with this video explaining the dire circumstanced that lie behind the Greek /default/bail out deal. Jim does a fantastic job explaining why the system can't fail till it does. Breaking News Ellis Martin Report with Jim Sinclair - YouTube (h/t lurker Susan)

Afternoon Delight 01/23/12 - It Is A Long Way Downnnnnnn
What can I say, emotions are thru the roof. It has been some time since the rhetoric across the financial blogs has been this testy. It is even bleeding over to the MSM (who are learning that the web is the best source of real information). Call it consensus disbelief.
It actually may be worse now than anytime in the past as even more have bought their tickets and are on the HFT/QE manipulation train. Even more are on the "we're all gonna die anyway so why are we bailing out everyone so what does it matter anyway" story, so why the rampage?
Those situations make my blogging a bit easier as I have been on the manipulation train and preaching it for years. Some thought I was nuts (some - the lost - still do). The sheeple and even some major players are coming around and beginning to voice their disbelief which is quite the change of events.
