    Gold went to around $2,000 (CPI Inflation adjusted) in the beginning of 1980. So, it's not entirely unbelievable, though it is quite high.

    I searched for some charts. Here a guy named Steve in New Zealand has compiled price charts on housing and gold that include CPI Inflation and also money supply.
